Contemporary LatviansContemporary Latvians (2007) is like a family album of a suburban Latvian guy who goes to London to have fun, earn money and find his love. The photographs not just narrate the story of a typical post-Soviet/new-EU Latvian, but also questions how globalization will change national identity in the future. In Latvia multiculturalism is still considered as a threat to Latvian identity, thus the project also challenges the concepts of nationalism, ethnicity and citizenship.
